Environmental Specifications for Mitsubishi E800 Compact Inverter

The Mitsubishi FR-E800 (E800) compact inverter is designed for stable operation in a wide range of industrial environments. The standard operating ambient temperature range is −20°C to +60°C, with power derating required when the temperature exceeds 50°C. The storage and transportation temperature range is −40°C to +70°C.

The inverter can operate in environments with relative humidity up to 90% (non-condensing). Condensation, icing, and frost must be avoided. The standard installation altitude is up to 3000 m, with derating or special considerations recommended at higher altitudes.

FR-E800 drives are intended for indoor industrial use in locations free from corrosive or flammable gases, conductive dust, heavy oil mist, or excessive airborne contaminants. For harsh environments, Mitsubishi provides coated models and extended environmental versions with enhanced resistance to corrosive atmospheres such as hydrogen sulfide or chemical plant emissions.

The product should be installed in a well-ventilated panel with proper clearance for air intake and exhaust. Operation in sealed or high-temperature enclosures requires forced ventilation or heat extraction. Vibration should remain within the limits stated in the instruction manual. For dusty or oily factories, a suitable enclosure or filtered ventilation system is recommended.

The FR-E800 series also offers an atmosphere and corrosion warning function that helps detect unhealthy environmental conditions and protects internal electronics. When operating in high-temperature, high-humidity, or high-altitude applications, follow the derating tables and installation instructions provided for the specific model.
